Kenya has expanded its national fibre optic network to 13,590 kilometres in 2025, up from 8,900 kilometres in 2022, marking a significant stride in the country's digital infrastructure rollout. The purpose is to raise fibre optic coverage of the country from 62% to 90% by the end of the next financial year. Speaking while presenting the 2025/2026 budget estimates in Parliament on Thursday, National Treasury CS. The Government has reiterated its commitment to increase and fast-track broadband connectivity across the country, by constructing at least 100,000 kilometres of National Fiber Optic connectivity.
